Christmas Creation

Many of you probably know about some popular plants and animals of the Christmas season, like reindeer, polar bears, Christmas trees, and more. The question is, how do they glorify the Lord, on this special day, and every other day? Let’s find out.

1 Reindeer

Reindeer are probably the world’s most famous of Christmas animals. Popularly depicted in children’s books, movies, and other Christmas traditions. They can be found in the tundra and woodland forest of North America, Europe, and Asia, in the Arctic (or North Pole). In the Arctic tundra, some Reindeer species live in herds up to about 50,000 to 500,000 members! Reindeer are the only members of the deer family, where both male and females have antlers. One very cool thing about Reindeer, is their safety in numbers. With so many individuals, it can be hard for a predator to pick one out in the thousands! Now that’s a God given ability!

2 Snowshoe Hare

Another animal popular on Christmas, is the Snowshoe hare. One movie that made this white rabbit popular, is “Frosty the Snowman”. One ability of the hare is to change color in the seasons! When it is spring or summer the hare is brown, but when winter comes it’s all white to blend in with the snow. Like the camel’s wide feet that are designed to prevent it from sinking in the sand, the Snowshoe hare is designed with wide feet to prevent it from sinking in the snow. Now those are awesome God given abilities that glorify Him.

3 Polar Bear

The world’s largest land carnivore, the Polar bear is the king of the North Pole. One cool design feature of the Polar bear are the tiny bumps on the pads of it’s paws to grip onto the slippery ice. Another cool thing about the Polar bear, is camouflage. The Polar bear is so white, that prey animals (seals, walruses, etc.) sometimes do not see it stalking them in the snow, ice or fog. Another animal that glorifies the Creator!

4 Mistletoe

We all know what a Mistletoe is, or do we? Mistletoes are actually parasites or “tree thieves”. When a Mistletoe seed finds a host, it germinates, growing out tiny roots for anchorage. It will also steal all the water and other nutrients that cause the host to starve. All the clumps of green you see on the tree in the picture, are dozens of Mistletoes! Even after the tree dies, the Mistletoe will still live on. Another awesome ability God has given the Mistletoe is to mimic the leaves of its host. Still, no one is positive on why they do this. The only creatures that pollenate its flowers are bees, bumble bees and beetles.

The berries of the Mistletoe are one of the Mistle Thrush’s favorite foods. By defecating on the branches of trees, the Thrush disperses the Mistletoe seeds. What an amazing plant and animal relationship!

Promised Coming

Christmas is not about kissing under the Mistletoe, the presents under the tree, or watching your favorite Christmas movie. It’s about Jesus, God in the flesh, who came into this world, born from the virgin Mary, and His sacrificial death on the cross to save sinners. It’s God’s promise to those who receive the gift in faith. That gift is Jesus Christ.

The same God who made all of His creation, for His glory, and the same God who promised His first coming into the world, now promises His second coming! He will Rapture those who believe and receive Him, into the Kingdom of Heaven. He will give those left behind opportunity during the Great Tribulation to repent, and receive Jesus as Lord, to join the saints for all eternity, before God’s wrath will be poured out on sin. He promises, He will make all things new for His glory.

I’m glad to hang out with you all, this is Maximus Adventures, over and out. Have a merry Christmas!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. John 3:16

“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
